Last year marked the inaugural celebration of Mysteryland USA at the legendary site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, leaving many of its attendees zealous about the musical diversity, communal vibe and impeccable production incomparable to any other music festival. Another recurring quirk of Mysteryland USA seems to be the much too accurate fulfillment of its name – keeping everyone on their toes with the great mystery of a late lineup release, but say goodbye to those sleepless nights from all the floating speculation because the official welcome of artists is here!
This year’s lineup is an inspired aquarium of the vast medley of various masters of their style, both big and small, locally supported and globally renown. Ranging from the incredibly innovative duo Empire of the Sun to the king of electronic music debauchery Diplo himself, from GRiZ and Grizmatik – the royalties of funk, to an entire mini lineup of that golden chill house presented by the Webster Hall stage. Regardless of the disappointment some attendees will inevitably express at the “lack” of this lineup, all the condolence I will provide is a huge smile while swaying to Porter Robinson, jamming to Moon Boots, and bumpin’ to Lee Foss. With the rare, chill vibe of being a 21+ festival, and an artfully handpicked buffet of electronic music talent (fully listed below), Mysteryland USA will have no problem continuing its legacy as one of the most well-established music events of the year.
