New Maxxi Soundsystem ‘Medicine EP’ Marks Culprit’s 50th Release

Medicine
Previewing the title track off his new EP Medicine right before the turn of the new year and staggering the second and third track ‘Lone Raver’ and ‘Fading Thought’ at the beginning of this year, Maxxi Soundsytem’s whole EP is now out for preview before it’s February 2nd launch.

‘Fading Thought’ has a very simplistic bassline melody that uses sorrowful lyrics and vowel sound fillers to express an ominous tone that Name One’s vocal range couldn’t be more perfect for.

‘Lone Raver’ is a deep cut of emotion, with an individual explaining the plight of the lonely raver. The gorgeous swells and impressive synth manipulation paired with a grooving bassline have this writer head bopping at his computer while compiling this very review.

To start off last year, Culprit released Name One’s collab with Adriatique titled ‘Midnight Walking’, that really set the tone for the LA based label. With this being Maxxi’s official debut after he released his remix of Burnski & M A N I K’s “YJG” last year, the reunion with his frequent vocal collaborator, Name One, give them Culprit’s 50th release. That’s a prestigious achievement for any label.
