Flume Tours Us Through Tokyo with Eclectic BBC 1 Quest Mix

Quest Mix
Australian producer Flume went on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 show last night to debut his Quest Mix and boy did he deliver. Flume recently went on a trip to Tokyo, and the Quest Mix is, as he describes it, the soundtrack for that trip. The mix itself does not include any Flume originals, but it is still every bit as captivating as one would expect from the young innovator.

Flume picks out some of electronic music’s chillest tracks out, that give the mix an overall easygoing and hazy atmosphere. From the likes of Kaytranada, SBTRKT, and TOKiMONSTA, the hour long mix features tracks that effortlessly float and flow through each other. The light airiness in Flume’s Quest Mix is reminiscent of that of the first half of Porter Robinson’s Essential Mix which aired earlier this year. As a plus, Flume does manage to throw in a little What So Not at the end with their edit of RL Grime’s Core’, which is coincidentally the only place where the mix picks up speed. For now, the mix is only available for stream so take a listen below.
