Booka Shade – Back to Monza
The legendary German duo, Booka Shade, are at it once more with their most recent EP Line of Fire, which is their most recent release since 2013’s EVE that was heralded by many to be Booka’s comeback from 2006’s smash album, Movements. Line of Fire‘s final track, ‘Back to Monza‘, is definitely a standout track from the most recent EP. The silky smooth song is a brilliant genre breaking meld of minimal and tech house that has all the technical kicks, stabs, and guitar plucks iconic of Booka Shade. The track, beginning with a nice synth progression, builds the anticipation into a thumping baseline that features pumps with a little deep house bounce that keep the tempo high. ‘Back to Monza’, clearly a product of adept veterans, skillfully balances the bass with slowly developing synth and guitar riffs that weave in and out of the beat.
