Bastille – Torn Apart (Cash Cash Remix)
Indie rock songs have been at the forefront of the dance music remix obsession, and with good reason. One of the top remixes of 2014 was Audien’s facelift of Bastille’s ‘Pompeii.’ Now, the English band is proving that they are not just a one-hit wonder in dance music. Their musical style translates fantastically to dance music, and now that has been solidified with the Cash Cash remix of Bastille’s ‘Torn Apart.’
The original already features a heavy rock bassline backed by piano and drums. Cash Cash keeps the majority of the framework the same, however they remove the bass when the vocals kick in, keeping the mood low. The bass returns for the build up, and Cash Cash raises the volume with an explosive drop, transforming the track from a melodic indie song into a progressive house jam. No release date has been revealed for this tune, but this is one worth waiting for.
