Could ZHU be scheming something for the city of New York?

One of the most prominent breakout stars of 2014, ZHU has been quietly hinting at something big for New York City. Recently, posters of the mysterious LA-based producer’s signature “Z” have been popping up in various locations throughout Brooklyn with the dates “Nov 21 & 22” written on them. Although what ZHU has planned for Nov 21 & 22 is uncertain, there is good reason for people to expect a New York debut from the producer.

This wouldn’t be the first time that mystery shrouded ZHU. Earlier this year when he first released his mash-up cover of ‘Moves Like Miss Jackson,’ he did so anonymously standing by his idea of “letting the music speak for itself.” After the release of his The Nightday EP, ZHU remained relatively quiet for most of the summer. Only recently has the cryptic producer been starting to resurface with news and tracks to break the silence. Last week, it was announced that ZHU would be making his North American debut headlining HARD Day of the Dead with the likes of Calvin Harris, Knife Party, and Deadmau5 B2B with Eric Prydz. And not long before then, the California native released his dreamy cover of CHVRCHES’ ‘Gun’ for free on Australia’s Triple J radio station. With all the news ZHU has been making, it’s clear the producer is getting ready to make some serious moves. And although a show in New York is not by any means guaranteed, it can be assured that whatever he has planned for the Big Apple will be worthwhile.
