[Preview] North Coast Music Festival To Close Out Summer Season In Chicago

North Coast

With the summer quickly approaching its end, it’s time to make sure you squeeze all of the remaining juice out of this festival season. Residents of the Windy City are uniquely fortunate in that they play host to Summer’s Last Stand, better known as North Coast Music Festival. In comparison to some of Chicago’s more sizable music events, like Spring Awakening and Lollapalooza, North Coast might on the surface feel a bit humble for a summer closeout party. But, those who’ve had the opportunity to attend this genre-melding event know that its modest size is just one of the many aspects that make this festival so special.

Held each year at Union Park on the Near West Side, North Coast has continually delivered one of the more diverse & refreshing lineups of any festival, with acts spanning across electronic, hip-hop, indie rock, jam band and more. This year, which also happens to be the event’s 5th anniversary, will be no different and will provide plenty of flavor for every taste. Headliners include the likes of Bassnectar, Kid Cudi, STS9, Snoop Dogg and Dada Life, but the supporting cast is equally as exciting. Electronic acts like Adventure Club, Keys N Krates and Griz will perform along side hip-hop stars Talib Kweli and Action Bronson, with plenty of indie & jam bands in between. Veteran fusion band Slightly Stoopid is a highly anticipated edition to this year’s event as well as Chicago’s own deep house resident Bisharat.

North Coast has always been a particularly special event dedicated to providing an amazing fan experience, and this year appears to be no different. It’s intimate setting coupled with an incredible caliber of talent has provided five years of truly unforgettable memories. There’s no better place to enjoy your Labor Day weekend than at one of Chicago’s most exceptional festivals. Head over to the North Coast website here to scope out the lineup, grab your tickets and plan your schedule. It is surely a weekend you won’t want to miss!
