Electric Zoo Day 3 Cursed, Shutdown for Second Year in a Row

Electric Zoo

Electric Zoo 2014 has been one of the most talked about festivals of 2014. While discussions were typically surrounded in some sort of controversy, things were looking up for this massive NYC festival. Unfortunately Randall Island was evacuated due to heavy rains and impending thunderstorms; an initial re-entry was speculated to occur around 6:15 p.m. EST, however reports have just come in stating Electric Zoo will not be resuming.

Electric Zoo’s luck on day three just hasn’t been superb. With last year’s festival shutting down its last day because of two MDMA related deaths, and this year’s ending only 3 hours in, fans have been left agitated to say the least. Festival spokesman Stefan Friedman issued the following statement:

“We apologize to our fans, but ultimately our main concern is for the safety and security of all attendees, artists and staff.”

As expected, attendees and performers alike were expressing their frustration. Some acts have managed to get shows together in NYC to make up for it, others won’t get to play at all. Stay tuned for more information.
