When making a debut on a big label, there are few better ways to do it than teaming up with the man running the show, so kudos to 3LAU for enlisting Tiësto on a thundering new track titled “Bang” out on Musical Freedom just in time for the summer. The familiar Bloodhound Gang lyrics appearing in the bootleg may seem a bit surprising, but the acapella was actually a very calculated choice from Tiësto. While the powerful, electro instrumental demonstrates 3LAU’s evolution as a big-room house producer, the vocals serve as a light-hearted nod to his earliest roots as a mash-up guru. Few producers have been able to connect past and present as well as Tiësto, and the resulting collaboration delivers a lively, yet playful hit that will certainly be making the rounds this festival season.
