Daft Punk, Disclosure and Avicii break Rolling Stones 50 Top Albums of 2013

Hey, remember this little gem from awhile ago? We do. So when Rolling Stone rolled out their 50 Best Albums for 2013, we were as surprised as any to see Daft Punk’s R.A.M grab the number 3 title. Stop me if you’ve heard this before: “2013 was a huge year for EDM”. Well no duh every year is big, but we live in the now and right now, EDM is huge. So it’s odd to see only 3 albums make the top 50 when we’re talking about a year in which Kaskade released this, Armin Van Buuren came out with this and Destroid came out with this. Couple that with Feed Me’s Calamari Tuesday and you wonder how Pusha T’s ‘My Name Is My Name’ nabbed 33. But I digress.

Daft Punk received a lot of flak for R.A.M but it’s hard to ignore something so exquisite. But what is even more impressive is that Disclosure got lucky 13 with their debut album ‘Settle’ which went gold earlier this year. Rounding out the EDM list is everyone’s favorite DJ/Producer Avicii who’s True album landed at #45.  You can see the rest of the list here and you guys can debate which albums should have made the list instead in the comments. You all can count my vote for Calamari Tuesday.
