Cedric Gervais Earns First Grammy Nomination with ‘Summertime Sadness’

Cedric Gervais

The sun keeps on shining for Cedric Gervais, after his summer to remember, just got a bit more memorable.  His first remix, and biggest hit to date, Lana Del Rey’s Summertime Sadness was announced as being officially up for a grammy in the “Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical)” category.

It’s a fitting way to end the year for Gervais, as this song was not short of noteworthy accomplishments. It transcended the EDM community as it reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, sat atop both the Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart and the most played dance song on American music Top 40 for five weeks, while racking up a quadruple-platinum single in sales, and 26 million Youtube views. The grammy awards stands to be electronic music’s best showing ever, as Gervais joins a bunch of other big name acts as the Grammy’s are announced live at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday January 26, 2014 on CBS at 8PM ET.
