German House Legends Booka Shade Return with Fifth Studio Album “Eve”

Eve is the veteran German duo’s first album since 2010’s More!, and it’s the first full-length they haven’t released through Get Physical Music. Named for the Manchester studio where members Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier regrouped for inspiration to finish the album after they nearly split up during the recording, Eve offers a strong outing from one of house music’s most veteran players.

With Eve, Booka Shade have rendered an album of beautifully crafted house music, somewhat reminiscent of their Movements era work, at times. The album opens steadily with “Many Rivers”, an atmospheric yet jazzy track before the Lil Louis-sampling single “Love Inc” introduces textbook Booka bass lines and rhythm.

Moving into its second half, Eve features vocal assistance of deep house fixture Fritz Kalkbrennerand the trombone work of Groove Armada’s Andy Cato in the brilliantly built “Crossing Border, ahead of the hypnotic “Love Drug” featuring Azari & III member Fritz Helder on vocals.

Eve is out now iTunes.
