Dusky Hit Number One On Beatport With ‘Careless’

It’s not often a “deep house” track climbs high on the charts, let alone to number one. But this week, London duo Dusky have reached the top with their infectious number “Careless”, originally released September 30th on the Aus Music label. These deep house masters certainly deserve the hype they’re receiving. After touring extensively all year, and putting out a handful of EP’s, it’s refreshing to see Dusky, and a song that’s something other than an electro-house banger, reaching the top of the charts. “Careless” has even knocked a release from 2013’s #1 DJ, Hardwell, down a spot.

Mixmag has speculated that this only further illustrates a continuous shift towards UK-originated sounds in the dance music sphere. Just think about Disclosure’s wildly growing popularity this year with their deeper sounding hit album Settle. The genre is definitely making itself heard around the world, in a bigger way than it ever has before. Last week, when the track was still sitting at number two, the duo even tweeted that it was a “very nice surprise”. After one listen to this thumping, catchy song, one can definitely agree. Check out “Careless” on Beatport now.
