Daft Punk Release ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’ music video ft. Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams

The just released music video for “Lose Yourself to Dance” feat. Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers (on guitar) is the first video from Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories album. The video seems to exemplify a better, groovier time in the music scene history. There’s no sea of smartphones being used to record an entire set, snapchat a friend, or exclaim to your facebook friends who you’re seeing. There are, however, people simply beaming and dancing with each other rather than all facing/worshipping the DJ/people on stage.

There’s nothing but good vintage vibes here. A funky yet catchy bassline, rhythmic clapping, and lens flare off Daft Punk’s, Nile Roger’s, and Pharrell Williams’ impeccably shimmering sequin suits, top off the experience perfectly. Mix in that distinct Daft Punk vocoder effect and Pharrell Williams’s smooth voice, and the thirst for funk becomes very real.

Despite an absence of the hard bass drops or “face-melting” Electro House beats we’ve all become accustomed to, the music and retro scene “Lose Yourself to Dance” portrays is beautiful and fresh all the same.
